CRADLE COAST OLIVES is an olive grower and boutique processor of multi award-winning extra virgin olive oil. We are based at Abbotsham, near Ulverstone, on the north-west coast of Tasmania.

CRADLE COAST OLIVES is owned and operated by Carol and Tony O’Neil, who planted the first olive trees on their 15 hectare property more than 20 years ago.

A family business ...

Three generations of the O’Neil family work in the olive grove and in the purpose-built processing room. A state of the art, imported Olio Mio cold press was installed in 2009. In charge of the oil press is daughter, Sonya Porter.

After trialling many different varieties of olives, the O’Neil family have settled on five cultivars which have proved to be ideally suited to the cool climate of northern Tasmania – an area that is climatically similar to the primary olive-growing areas in Spain, Italy and other Mediterranean countries.

Cradle Coast Olives has taken out the “Best Boutique Oil” award at the Australian National Olive Oil Awards for five out of the last seven years.
